One of the major issues in the field is poetry translation which is generally held to be the most difficult and demanding form of translation. After finishing his studies there, Baranauskas initially remained in the parish. He saw it as a destruction and profanation of old patriarchal morals, national traditions, foundations of folk culture and esthetics that can not be excused even for the sake of new culture.
